FIRST Robotics Team Resources
In an endeavor to help other teams progress and learn we have created a handbook for FIRST Teams, as well as tutorials for AutoDesk Inventer, Programming and Gimp. Here is an excerpt from the introduction of the handbook:
We feel that Team 1073's ten years of experience in FIRST have give us ample knowledge about this program, and in the spirit of sharing and helping other teams, we decided to write this guide to assist rookie teams with acclimating to the glorious program we call FIRST. In this text, we will educate your team as to the purpose and ideals of FIRST we will define Gracious Professionalism in easy to digest term, and we will suggest ways to organize your team and improve student participation through the use of timelines, mentoring, and team structuring. We will cover the basics of team budget and fundraising, as well as explaining some essential skills related to FIRST through tutorials. Lastly, we will suggest how your team can become closely involved in your community and make it a bettr place. All of this information wll allow you to have a strong, united team that can compete successfully in all FRC events. It is our goal to have all teams able to work as efficient, cohesive groups for their own self benefit. We believe that this will allow for better communication between teams and more innovative designs because teams will not be so focused on organizing themselves and their assets.
