Every business should be looking to grow and we’ve looked before at why you should try to sell more to your existing customers. So how can you improve your marketing and create new products that your customers already want?
The answer is straightforward. Ask them what they want and then sell it to them. Survey your customers and see what the common themes are that crop up in the feedback.
See what your customers like most about your product. Then think about how you can highlight that in your future marketing. But just as important is to discover what they feel that your product or service currently lacks. Use their feedback to address those issues and offer that new improved version or new service to your customers.
Provide a hot offer that you know they want
Lets think about how this could work in practice. If you have a web design business creating websites and the survey shows that your customers need help to rank their site on search engines. With that knowledge you could create an SEO service, where you charge a monthly payment to help rank their website.
If you don’t know enough about SEO to do this yourself, you could always outsource this part. You could find a supplier willing to do the work but happy to let you white label it as your own service. You put on your markup and sell at a profit. If you choose this route you don’t have to do any of the work.
Contact your current customers to tell them about the new service. Highlight the fact that you’ve created it as a result of the feedback they gave. Because you’re providing exactly what many of them asked for you should make plenty of sales.
This will also help you build a great relationship with your customers when they see that you have responded to their needs.
Once you have done this with one service you may decide to add even more related services to your catalog. You could decide to offer a lead generation service which you could provide using an easy to use lead generation software.

Improve your marketing using customer feedback
When you design your future marketing make sure you highlight the new service alongside your core business. You already know that it was important to your current customers. It’s highly likely that the same issues will matter to other potential customers. You can set yourself apart from your competitors by offering a package of services that complement each other.
Asking for feedback from your customers on what they do and don’t like about your current service and what else they wish you offered is marketing gold. Use that feedback to create hot new products and improve your marketing.
